Individual provision. Clear oversight. Meaningful progress.

Introduction

A different route through education.

When conventional education is not currently meeting a young person's needs, learning should not simply stop.

MFactor Education works with schools, local authorities and families to create structured individual education arrangements around the learner's needs, circumstances and next steps.

M = Momentum

Every learner needs momentum.

Progress looks different for every young person.

For one learner, momentum may begin with attending a session consistently. For another, it may mean rebuilding confidence in education, increasing learning hours, making academic progress, completing qualifications or preparing for a successful transition.

MFactor Education begins with the learner's current position and builds meaningful momentum from there.

Momentum may look like

  • Renewed engagement with education
  • Improved attendance
  • Increasing learning tolerance
  • Academic development
  • Greater consistency week to week
  • Completing qualifications
  • Successful transitions
  • Reintegration where appropriate

These are examples, not a single fixed pathway. Objectives are agreed for each learner individually.

Who we may support

Education built around individual need.

MFactor Education may support learners in a range of circumstances, always following individual assessment of educational need, safeguarding and suitability.

SEND

Learners with identified special educational needs and disabilities, including those with an EHCP.

SEMH needs

Learners whose social, emotional and mental health needs are a barrier to accessing conventional education.

EBSA

Learners experiencing emotionally based school avoidance who need a carefully graded starting point.

Exclusion or risk of exclusion

Learners who need an alternative arrangement while next steps are considered.

Disrupted education

Learners with gaps in learning caused by moves, absence or unsuitable arrangements.

Medical or wellbeing barriers

Learners unable to attend consistently for health or wellbeing reasons, following individual assessment.

Transition difficulties

Learners who need structured support moving between settings, key stages or destinations.

Complex educational circumstances

Learners whose circumstances require a bespoke package built with the commissioning team.

Placement journey

Built around the learner.

Placement decisions consider educational need, safeguarding, risk, learner profile, location, timetable and practitioner expertise.

  1. 1

    Referral

A school, local authority team or other commissioner shares referral information including educational need, context and any known considerations.

  2. 2

    Initial review

Our team reviews suitability, subject and hours requirements, setting, timetable and whether we are able to support the learner well.

  3. 3

    Suitability & risk assessment

Safeguarding considerations, risk information and delivery environment are assessed before any provision is confirmed.

  4. 4

    Practitioner matching

A checked practitioner is matched on subject knowledge, SEND/SEMH experience, learner profile, location and availability.

  5. 5

    Individual education plan

Objectives, timetable, curriculum focus, review points and agreed commissioner outcomes are documented before delivery begins.

  6. 6

    Delivery, reporting & review

Sessions are delivered and recorded, attendance and engagement are monitored, and progress is reviewed with the commissioner.

Commissioner visibility

Clear oversight from day one.

Commissioners should be able to see whether provision occurred, whether the learner engaged, what was delivered, how progress is developing, whether concerns arose and what happens next.

What is recorded and reported

  • Attendance for every session
  • Session reporting on what was delivered
  • Safeguarding escalation where concerns arise
  • Engagement and learning tolerance
  • Academic progress against objectives
  • Individual targets and review points
  • Scheduled commissioner reviews
  • Next-step or reintegration planning

Safeguarding

Safeguarding built into every placement.

Safeguarding is part of the referral review, the matching decision, the delivery framework and every review point.

  • Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputy DSL
  • Safer recruitment and reference checks
  • DBS checks where appropriate
  • Identity and right-to-work checks
  • Safeguarding induction for practitioners
  • Individual risk assessment per placement

Where we deliver

Education where it works best for the learner.

The delivery setting depends on individual need, safeguarding, suitability, risk assessment and commissioning arrangements.

At home

Individual education in the family home where this is suitable, risk assessed and agreed with the commissioner.

At school

On-site provision that keeps the learner connected to their school while a different arrangement is in place.

Community settings

Libraries, learning centres and other appropriate venues, chosen for a calm and suitable learning environment.

Online where appropriate

Live online teaching where it is the most suitable route, or where it supplements face-to-face provision.
